Welcome to the Pashine Lab!
We are an experimental soft condensed matter lab working in the field of mechanical metamaterials. Our research consists of mostly macroscopic, table-top experiments, but the questions we want to answer are often scale independent. We are interested in exploring fundamental questions regarding geometry and material properties in metamaterial design in an effort towards understanding trainability and tunability of materials and to create new kinds of metamaterials.
Our main lab is located in the Physics Department at Syracuse University. We are also a part of the Bioinspired Institute. We are always seeking motivated and creative researchers to join our group.
We are actively looking for graduate students to join our group. Graduate students already at SU should directly reach out to Nidhi.
Prospective graduate students can apply to our graduate program. Inquiries about the department, the graduate program, or soft matter research at Syracuse are welcome.
